The Georgia Backcountry...

Today we had quite the adventure...after showing Cam around our local Bass Pro shop/monstrosity, we set out for the Wild Animal Safari just across the Georgia state line.

I was just starting to get nervous that we were about to end up in a horror movie when we found the park.

After some debate over whether or not to rent a park van instead of driving our own car through the safari, we opted for the van spray painted with black zebra stripes...and we were glad we did!
Here's another zebra rental car in front of us as we pull across the cattle guard...

So excited with our bag of treats!

The excitement quickly turned to hysterics-in a fun but also terrifying way...there was a lot of nervous laughter going on...

The buffalo were relentless! His giant head reached all the way in the car looking for snacks!

Then this guy came to our window...Lena started chanting "ok, ok, ok, ok, ok, ok, ok, ok" trying to convince herself that we were safe and her parents wouldn't actually subject her to being eaten by a giant animal...

She started her chant every time a huge head came through the window. But generally she loved it.

Watch out- that llama wants the iPhone!

The giraffe was a highlight...

Quick! Find more food!

Until he started some out of control drooling...all over Cam!

Ok, ok, ok, ok...

Pigs! She loved the pigs the best. Probably because the couldn't reach the window...

The zebras and zedonks (seriously they had brown zebra donkeys they called zedonks...) may bite so we kept the windows up...

But that didn't stop them from chewing on the car!

Silly goats.

What a weird place. And probably horrible to support. They did have an anti-PETA ad in their newsletter...

But we had a great time and sang a lot of old macdonld!

On our way home we even got to stop at Chipotle and at the Tuskeegee Airmen museum. Unfortunately the museum had just closed but we saw the airfield and drove through town. Hopefully we'll make it back to see sone of their planes.

My only disappointment today was that I was pretty sure we would run into one of the reality tv stars from a reputable show such as Teen Mom or Teen Mom 2. No such luck...three more weeks of hoping!

Another Bama adventure...
