Missing Aya Bess

Last week my grandmother passed away. When Lena started to talk she called my mom Aya, and logically she decided grandma would be Aya Bess. She always asked about Aya Bess and wanted to call and talk to her--guess she could tell as a toddler what a special lady Aya Bess was!

She didnt get to meet Jackson but here are some sweet Lena moments with her great-grandmother.












This video is from March when we were locked out of grandma's apartment. It's amazing how far her speech has come in just 5 months!

During that visit grandma got to hear Lena say her ABCs and count to ten. I am going to really miss seeing her face light up when listening to my "news" and all of her thoughtful advice and funny stories. She was the best--we were so lucky to have her as our grandma!
