First day of vacation was a success!

It takes a little getting used to be without the kids but we are making the most of it! Yesterday we left home before the kids woke up, stopped in Petaluma for coffee, cloverdale for breakfast, Mendocino for lunch, at a sea glass beach in fort Bragg, drove through a giant redwood tree, and drove the Avenue of the Giants through a forrest of giant redwoods. We took the long way all the way up highway 1 and I miraculously didn't even get carsick despite Cameron's every attempt to take the curves on as fast as possible. We stopped for pizza and local beer in Brookings, Oregon. Both were really good. We arrived at our campsite on the beach about ten minutes before it got dark and cam managed to set up our new gigantic tent in record time!

We roasted marshmallows, although I'm the only one who ate s'mores (and cam was the only one who went running on the beach this morning).

Here are some pictures!

The kids and Geris seem to be having a great time too!

Here's Lena on FaceTime with cousin Harry!
